I'll Figure It Out

I can remember doing service calls with an older journeyman electrician. They would contact with a new job scope. It would have no details in the scope. None of the right questions were being asked by the customer service representative to the customer.

We would be driving to the job. He'd think about some potential causes of the problem. He would finally come to the realization that he doesn't have enough information to think up potential causes of the problem. He'd just say" I'll figure it out ". He always went into every job with confidence that he'd fix the issue.I learned quite a bit from him. He always kept his cool when things may not have been going right. That allowed him to think about the problems clearly. At the end of the job, he'd always have it figured out. 

I really enjoy doing service work. I get to go into homes and businesses. No matter how old the building is, I'm prepared to fix the problems. I don't have much information when I go into these jobs. I don't need it. I learned how to troubleshoot from some of the best electricians in my area. I've had jobs where I was on my own. I just tell myself one thing. I'll figure it out.
