How I Decided To Become A Master Electrician Part 15

The end of 2022 was filled with a lot of emotions. I started working for a really big contractor that I loved working for. The money was great. Everyone was happy to be there. It seemed like a place that anyone would want to be for a long time. I didn`t know that they only hired me and another guy that I went to orientation with to help with completing their end of the year work. There were so many speeches about having unlimited worked. This never turned out to be the case. As the holiday season came around, there was not a big work load. They let me and the other guy go on the same day. They also let go of over two hundred more people over the next two days.It was a very stressful time. I felt like so much stuff was going on from moving into an old home that needed a full remodel, to losing a job that I really liked during the worst time to be without work in the construction field. I started doing what I`ve always done when life has gotten rough. I went out and tried to find more work. I started passing out older business cards. I applied for lots of jobs with no success. I would pick up some work during the first few months of 2023. I started getting some interviews in February 2023. I spoke to an owner of a business that is similar to mine. He helped me focus on building my own business instead of focusing on working for another company.I had already applied for my LLC before this interview. I was fed up with the constant issues with working for people during this time. The guy at this company told me that I should keep focusing on building. I took one last interview with another company on the advice of my mother. This interview went well until the interviewer asked what I was currently doing. I told him that I was working for myself because I needed to provide for my family. This was not the plan at this time, but I will always do what is needed when I have these skills. He did not like that at all. I could see it. I`ve been trained to read people. I can normally tell when things aren`t great. I knew that I wouldn`t hear from that company again. I`ve worked really hard, even with the setbacks of life in this trade. I owe it to myself and the people that depend on me to use my skills to help support them.
