How I Decided To Become A Master Electrician Part 10

The next year of school started. I ended up with the same teacher that I had as a replacement in my first year. This was great for me. There is always a comfort level when you have a good teacher for multiple school years. We got even more in depth with the electrical code book. This school year taught me how to navigate the book for my answers. This would help in the future when I start studying to take the next step.

I started doing more work on solar sites during this part of the year. It was really hard work. Solar work is not an 8 hour job. You will spend between 10-12 hours on the job. There is so much general labor involved. You will feel like you`ve been lifting weights for an entire shift at times. There are so many things that need to be done on these types of jobs that I didn`t notice it until later.

I got to March 2017. I finished another year of schooling. I was tied with another guy as having the highest gpa in class at a 96. I started doing more commercial service work during this time. There was a mixture of working during the day and overnight. There was a lot more overtime for these jobs. This was the first time that I had done parking lot lighting and emergency calls. I started learning about smart lighting systems. I went through the rest of the year and most of 2018 doing more work independently. People started to see that I could handle doing different tasks without supervision. They would start to give me a helper to teach on certain jobs. This showed growth and added to my confidence in my skills. I felt like it was time to take the next step in my goal pretty soon.
